Macro: Spirals

Spiral

f/8, 1/200s, Tamron 90mm 1:1 Macro, Nikon D80 handheld

Well, in keeping with the green theme, here's another macro shot from my backyard.

It's a challenge trying to photograph little things like these, in usually bad light, and in unusual positions. I mean, you should have seen how I was crouching to take this picture. My mum asked me if I was alright and needed help. =P

I used the built in flash here, because my unnatural position means I was unable to properly support the camera - which means lots of blurry shots. The external flash explains the better lighted upper half of the picture, and the darker, less lighted lower half. There's no escaping the fact that I'll need external flash for get proper macro pictures.

Now, someone, try guess what's that I photographed !?
